Food has always been a form of comfort to me. Not in the unhealthy way. But I’ve always loved cooking. And sometimes a certain type of food is just what a girl needs to feel better.
Today I’m making soup. Soup is one of those dishes that is easy to make. There is no need for a recipe. Just start with a big pot and a handful of your favourite ingredients. That’s all it takes.
I have a big pot of soup filled with beans, tomatoes, potatoes and other assorted vegetables simmering away. The apartment smells amazing. And already, I can feel my appetite returning.
I’ve been feeling a little under the weather the last couple of days (which just happen to be days off this week). As soon as I slow down and take a minute I relax, that’s when I tend to get sick.
And so, I turn to a big hearty pot of soup, a fuzzy blanket and my favourite Monday night television. Time to rest up. 🙂
